On 3 to 4 July 2010, Bali will host the international level yo-yo competition. The event, entitled '2nd Indonesian National Yoyo Championship (INYC) dan 1st Bali International Yoyo Open (BIYO) 2010' will take place in Kuta Beach Bali.
Chairman of the committee BIYO and INYC, Januarius Mangari Jackson said, a lot of positive response and requests from the public after the implementation of 1st INYC in Jakarta last year. "People ask us to invite peyoyo from foreign countries, so that Indonesia can learn to yo-yo players and compete with peyoyo from foreign countries," Jackson said in a written release, Monday (06/14/2010).
Jackson explained that there are five categories of games that will diperlombakan. First, skills and yo-yo play rope with one hand. Second, the skill to play yoyo with the string regardless of the yoyo. Third, the skills to play yoyo with the string attached to a pendulum. Fourth, the skills to play all the skills at once in the duration of three minutes. And finally, play yoyo with all kinds of artistic performances done with choreography and musical accompaniment.
"We hope yo increasingly acceptable in society and the yo-yo championship in Bali later would become an arena that can provide opportunities on a national yo-yo players to be able to show what talent they are not inferior to the international yo-yo players," Jackson hoped.
Yoyo is the game of the second oldest in the world, which have long been known as a game of dexterity began to reinforce its status as the sport began agility and competed in various national championships, regional and international. In Indonesia, the yo-yo trend began in 2005 and is currently getting a lot of yo-yo enthusiast or devotee in Indonesia.
