Blogging Buzz - A total of 200 participants were students lovers of antennas, antenna manufacturers, as well as members of the Indonesian Amateur Radio Organisation (ORARI) today following the Techno Fair 2010 Antenna third nationally in the Plaza KPTU Faculty of Engineering, University of Gadjah Mada (UGM). The event was initiated by the Department of Engineering Physics GMU was opened with the release of balloons and antennas race simulations by several participants.
Secretary of the Department of Engineering Physics UGM Dr Ahmad Agus Setiawan welcomes competition event held the antenna in the campus. This competition is believed to increase student interest in particular in innovating on the antenna.
"Of course the expected innovation and interests of students will be even greater. Moreover, this philosophy turns out to the front antenna is also capable of increasing national unity, "said Agus.
Similar with Agus, Chairman ORARI Yogyakarta (DIY) Good Riyanto Baliardi. He describes this event as well as add insight to members who have been relying ORARI antenna from the side of strength (power)only. "We can learn from the science side of this activity. So far, we are still a lot of mistakes because the antenna is positioned in terms of strength only and not quality, "said Good.
Vice Dean for Research, Faculty of Engineering Student Affairs and Cooperation Jamasri GMU Prof., Ph.D., hope the competition can stimulate students to continue applying their knowledge well, especially in practical and applicable. He also hope the race antennas national level could then be included in a contest / competition at the national level under such DIKTI Indonesian Robot Contest (KRI).
Prof. Ir Sunarno, M. Eng, Ph.D explains, in his third year of this contest is divided into two categories antenna is omni-directional antennas that can emit waves in all directions, and a directional antenna that can only waves radiate in one direction. Each category winner will be selected first to third. The participants were mostly from areas in Java such as Jakarta, Klaten, Surabaya, and Waterford.
Sunarno said, the development of public interest and also to develop students' potential in the field of antennas increases. Unfortunately, the media for distributing and sharing knowledge about this antenna is still lacking. "Actually the antenna is an important factor for the transmission of information in making use of electromagnetic waves. In order for the information conveyed can be radiated or submitted properly and not corrupted, the antenna used should have good results," he said.
A good antenna work at the desired frequency, has a large gain, impedance 50 ohms (75 ohms for the antenna television), reaktansinya zero, SWR < 1.5, marketable, efficient and effective.
Besides the race antenna, several events are also held in events such as the signing of the MoU between ORARI with the Faculty of Engineering Gadjah Mada University, Bazar instrumentation consisting of an exhibit of medical instrumentation devices, digital systems, as well as laboratory equipment controlled sensors and systems engineering physics, exhibitions klithikan tools, until the food booth.
