For three consecutive years, the United States (U.S.) through its embassy in Indonesia was still loyal to the Blogger party sponsoring the event. So is the Feast Blogger + 2010 (read: Blogger Party Plus) this year on a wider scope on all the online community.
"This is the third year and we feel proud to still be a sponsor of the Blogger party this year," said Ted Osius, Deputy U.S. Ambassador to Indonesia, in a press conference "Blogger Party + 2010", held at Resto Es Teller 77, Wednesday (18/8/2010).
On the occasion, he stated that social media and blogs are one tool to voice their opinions and encourage the democratic party. "Indonesia is one country with freedom of opinion the best in Southeast Asia, and this event is one form of the statement that," he added.
Still the same as last year, support was expressed by the U.S. Embassy sponsored a series of blog writing training in 10 cities in Indonesia. Through this training, it is expected to communities, organizations, or NGOs are already active in the offline can better disseminate their activities. Ted added, some cities to be visited include: Makassar, Padang, Manado, Pontianak, Banjarmasin, Aceh, Medan, Surabaya, Madura, and Yogyakarta.
